Kuru, Featured in the MICHELIN Guide Saudi Arabia, Offers a Distinct Blend of Japanese and Peruvian Cuisine

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia -December 2025– Kuru Restaurant, part of Lilaty Hospitality Group, has successfully established itself as a premier culinary destination within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The restaurant offers a dining experience centered around “Nikkei” cuisine, a fusion of Peruvian and Japanese culinary traditions, delivered through culturally rooted and expertly prepared selections.

Kuru’s interior design is tailored for its specialized experiences, fostering an atmosphere of exploration and understated luxury. The décor features details inspired by Inca civilization, distinctive wall designs, and touches that harmoniously blend cultural richness with contemporary elegance. The venue strikes a balance between sophisticated Japanese Satei style and Peruvian ambiance, offering guests a chance to relax in supreme luxury, interspersed with playful, spontaneous touches. The central circular bar, adorned with hanging ceramic pieces and soft architectural details, is a focal point. It allows guests throughout the restaurant to enjoy a live view of the chefs preparing dishes, adding energy, vibrancy, and a warm intimacy to the atmosphere, while serving exceptional, artfully prepared beverages.

This distinctive approach is executed by a team of expert chefs. Executive Chef Eddy Castro, drawing on extensive experience across Argentina, Chile, and Brazil, steers Kuru’s creative direction, defining its bold and luxurious character. He collaborates with expert Sushi Chef Kenji Sarco, a Nikkei specialist who brings over a decade of experience from Lima, Paraguay, and Japan.

At the beginning of each month, Kuru unveils a monthly special designed for those seeking incomparable and unforgettable experiences. This month’s highlight is the Niku Wasabi, featuring Wagyu sirloin with kizami wasabi, rocoto sauce, and tsukemono—a bold dish that embodies the restaurant’s commitment to seasonal innovation.

The menu is led by an array of hot and cold appetizers. Cold selections include the Ceviche Limeno, which combines Akami bluefin tuna with rocoto leche de tigre, chifles, and avocado; and the Wagyu Tartare with nikkei kimchi sauce and crispy Andean crackers. Hot appetizers feature the sweet yet spicy Kuru Edamame, glazed with Peruvian teriyaki, and the Kuru Slider, which offers Wagyu beef with aji amarillo truffle sauce and pickled red onion.

The menu continues its excellence with the Nigiri Tasting Experience, five selections expertly presented by the Sushi Chef. Each piece is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, allowing guests to explore flavors gradually. Highlights include the Nakka Truffle, Langostino Caray, and Negaki Tartare. Hand-rolled selections, such as the Langosta al Fuego and Asevicado Japonés, offer an exquisite blend of flavors. Main courses include Carbon Chicken, marinated in aji panca, and Niku Tomorokoshi Short Ribs with corn foam and edamame. Side dishes elevate the experience further, with options like Miso Broccolini, Chumashu Truffle Potatoes, and Asparagus Chimichurri.

Kuru also features exclusive, off-menu items available only upon request, such as premium caviar and fresh, creamy uni, which are imported in limited quantities and are rare in the region. These secret selections invite guests into an even more private experience within Kuru’s distinctive setting.

The culinary journey culminates with a dessert menu featuring the restaurant’s iconic Vanilla Cheesecake, known for its rich creaminess and crisp texture, available with an added tangy flavor of dulce de leche. Other options include Churros with vanilla sugar dusted alongside a Suspiso chocolate sauce; and the Aisu Kurīmu selections, which offer a light finish with in-house prepared flavors of Yuzu Coconut, Strawberry Leche, Chocolate Passion Fruit, and Pistachio.

Kuru has quickly gained widespread recognition in the Kingdom’s evolving culinary landscape, earning a spot in the MICHELIN Guide Saudi Arabia. Its distinguished presence reflects its pure creativity and a celebration of cultural interconnectedness, merging Peruvian heritage with Japanese artistry in authentic experiences that blend luxury and simplicity.

Kuru welcomes guests to vibrant, live experiences prepared with the utmost care and attention to detail, where flavors carry beautiful meaning and memories for an unforgettable visit. Kuru is a leading destination where exploration and sharing are celebrated.
