TAIF, KSA | Jan 10, 2026 – The Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission (LPTC) today officially inaugurated the third edition of the Writers and Readers Festival at Al-Rudaf Park in the Taif Governorate.
Running under the theme “Your Presence Matters,” the seven-day cultural extravaganza will continue until January 15, 2026. The festival welcomes visitors daily from 4:00 PM to 12:00 midnight, offering a contemporary experience that bridges historical charm with modern cultural vibrancy.
Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, CEO of the LPTC, emphasized that the festival is a core part of the Commission’s efforts to enhance the quality of life—a key pillar of Saudi Vision 2030. “By making culture a way of life and empowering individuals intellectually, we are fostering a society that contributes deeply to global heritage,” Dr. Al-Wasel stated.
He further highlighted Taif’s significance as the first Saudi city classified within UNESCO’s Network of Creative Cities in the field of literature.
Festival Highlights:
- Scale: Over 270 events, including 176 cultural activities, 84 theatrical performances, and 7 musical/poetry evenings.
- Zones: Four main areas—Aldarb, Almatal, Alfanaa, and Alsarh.
- Artisan Support: 20 dedicated platforms for artisans to showcase their professional work.
- Interactive Pavilions: Opportunities to explore everything from historical biographies to the modern world of Manga.
- Children’s Area: Five specialized sections featuring a “Storyteller’s Theater” and educational games designed to build a cultured future generation.
This festival serves as a vital platform for local and international creatives to engage in intellectual exchange, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s position as a dynamic hub for literature and the arts.
