January 15, 2026 — Sommet Education, the world-leading network of hospitality management and culinary arts institutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Spencer Coles as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective February 16th, 2026.
Mr. Coles joins the group—which includes prestigious institutions such as École Ducasse, Glion Institute of Higher Education, Les Roches, Indian School of Hospitality, and Invictus Education—bringing over 25 years of senior leadership experience in private international higher education.
A Proven Track Record of Academic Excellence
Throughout his career, Mr. Coles has demonstrated a strong record of driving institutional growth and leading large-scale strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Sommet Education, he served as the CEO of Mander Portman Woodward (MPW) since 2013. Under his leadership, MPW saw international growth quadruple in five years and established high-profile partnerships, including a collaboration with the University of the Arts London (UAL).
His extensive background also includes a decade-long tenure at Regent’s University London, where he served as Chief Operating Officer. During this time, he was instrumental in:
- Revenue Growth: Managing all seven schools within the group, including the European Business School.
- Academic Innovation: Leading the launch of specialized Masters in Luxury Brand Management, Global Banking and Finance, and Entrepreneurial Management.
- Strategic Success: Playing a pivotal role in securing UK degree-awarding status for the institution.
